Hailey and Keegan kept their May wedding at Pinecrest Northwoods simple, relaxed, and thoughtfully planned, with a special stop at Lake Superior adding a little adventure to their day.

After getting ready, they made the 45-minute drive to Presque Isle Park, where they spent some time along the scenic shoreline. At Black Rocks, they shared their first look and exchanged private vows before continuing on to get married. Alexa Vandemark Photo and Nick Najduk / Athorns Films beautifully documented their day.

Their wedding décor featured deep reds and greens, wood, lace, and vintage pieces, with most of it either thrifted or handmade by the couple. This included a faux stained-glass welcome sign made by them with help from family and friends. Hailey also designed their invitations and made the paper they were printed on. They put a lot of thought into keeping their day local, seasonal, and sustainable. Florals were provided by Rock River Farm.

Hailey and Keegan started dating during their senior year of high school in 2019 and went on to attend Michigan State University together. After graduating, they moved to Ishpeming in August 2025, bringing them closer to their Upper Peninsula roots and family. They got engaged in December 2024 and less than a year after moving to the U.P., celebrated their wedding in Republic, Michigan.

Hailey walked down the aisle to J’s Lullaby by Delaney Bailey, and the couple chose My Love Mine All Mine by Cavetown for their first dance.

Guests enjoyed a welcome lunch from Delft Bistro in Marquette, along with charcuterie from Delicious Designs – Missy McCoy.

Dinner was served family-style by MQT Nutrition, featuring chicken, pork, Michigan salad, mac and cheese, and other comfort foods.

For dessert, guests enjoyed a variety of pies from Peace Pie Company, and Hailey and Keegan even had their own pie-cutting moment. Loon cake toppers added a personalized touch that fit perfectly with their Northwoods setting.

The couple planned and put together their entire wedding themselves, including gift baskets filled with local goodies for their guests to take home. Instead of a traditional dance floor or DJ, they opted for a campfire and s’mores, keeping the reception cozy and low-key.

Rain was in the forecast, so Hailey and Keegan prepared for the possibility with the team at Pinecrest Northwoods. Luckily, it held off through dinner before a light sprinkle finally rolled in. After dessert, they spent the rest of the evening inside chatting and playing cards.

You can view their official wedding video here. After the wedding, Hailey and Keegan took additional photos at the Marquette County Courthouse, where Hailey wore a dress her grandmother had made for her. You can view that photoshoot here.

For other couples planning their wedding, Hailey’s advice is simple:

“Choose vendors that align with your lifestyle, and choose decor, music, etc. that feels authentic to you and your partner <3”
