A Timeless Northwoods Wedding at Norwood Pines Supper Club

Meet the Newlyweds


Haley & Kyle are hometown sweethearts from Stevens Point, Wisconsin who LOVE supper clubs, their dogs, and spending time together in Minocqua. Minocqua is near and dear to them. They love visiting supper clubs together SO MUCH that they even got engaged after eating dinner at one!


Haley & Kyle planned a timeless wedding with blacks, whites, and greens, and embraced the charm of the Wisconsin Supper Club aesthetic.

Where was the ceremony held? Was it indoor or outdoor? Any special setup, arches, or meaningful details?


The ceremony was held outdoors at Norwood Pines Supper Club in Minocqua, Wisconsin. The site was right next to a lake and under the tall pines of the Northwoods - add a simple wooden backdrop with romantic white fabric, and the setting was peaceful and beautiful. During the ceremony they had a branding ceremony (complete with a hot branding iron) as symbol of unity and a keepsake for their future together.




Where was the reception held? Any unique features of the space?


The reception was also at Norwood Pines Supper Club in Minocqua, Wisconsin, this time on the lawn under a clear reception tent from our friends at Party Envy. The outdoor space had a bar onsite, and we brought in many rentals, including the clear tent, yard games, and the dance floor, which was packed thanks to Spicy Tie Band with live entertainment. The reception was made even more magical with the talents of Art by Brandee Benson who was the live painter at the event.




Did the couple include any unique or meaningful elements (handmade décor, family traditions, signature cocktails, etc.)?  


Meaningful elements of the day included a first look between the bride and her groom, her parents, and her bridesmaids, and they embraced their love of supper clubs by selecting Norwood Pines as the venue, complete with their cocktails and food. They also included a branding ceremony during the wedding ceremony, and the bride's dad sang a song during the reception! Their personality was all over their wedding.



Anything notable about catering, desserts, or the cake? 


Haley & Kyle opted for supper club cocktails and food, and Norwood Pines was kind enough to provide drinks and catering for the event! Their high-quality food translated beautifully to an outdoor wedding, especially the outdoor pizza oven and signature homemade pizzas! The desserts by Barbara Baker were many and had great variety and filled a whole table so guests could choose from many options, including numerous flavors of cheesecake.



Was there a band, DJ, or other entertainment? Any standout performances or fun moments?  


Spicy Tie Band was hired to be the reception entertainment and WOW did they deliver! They kept the dance floor packed, kept the party atmosphere up, and allowed for a special guest to take the mic for a while: the bride's dad! The crowd went wild!



Did anything unexpected happen during the day? (Weather, surprises, timeline changes, etc.)


The weather cooperated beautifully with us! As a planner, the logistics of moving the tent and all the rentals onto an outdoor space for both the ceremony and reception require many moving parts, but our team was on the ball and prepared and the day went very smoothly. We were happy with how the many vendors worked alongside us in a supportive, collaborative way.


One piece of advice for couples planning their wedding? 


My advice to couples planning a wedding (especially if it's an outdoor wedding!) is to hire a wedding planner. The unknowns with weather and creating the space complete with tents, tables, chairs, decor, ceremony backdrops, and many other things can really add up, and having an experienced wedding planner to carry that load for you is the best gift you can give yourself.

I'd love a note that Haley & Kyle were an absolute dream to plan with! They had great ideas, and they really knew what they were looking for, so it was very easy to make planning decisions together. We miss our time with them!
